A Report on the Woodland Working Party
Where would we be without our work parties? At the beginning of June about 30 people gathered to work on the estate and in the house. A great kitchen team kept us very well fed, even supplying wonderful cake at tea time! Others did clearing out and cleaning and the whole work party spent one day on essential tasks around the house,. trying to turn a blind eye to the glorious weather outside! .....

New Community Member to join Scargill House
It gives us great pleasure to announce that Revd Stephanie Couvela will be joining the Scargill community in September. She will be coming from a Guildford Diocese - yes, another southerner! Stephanie will bring so much. She is a gifted and enthusiastic teacher, a prayerful Christian with a pastoral heart. She also greatly enjoys leading worship. Most important of all, she is a lovely person. Stephanie is not scared to get stuck in and be closely involved with Scargill's pioneering stage. She is delighted to be a part of the adventure!Revd Phil StoneStephanie introduces herself below...

Betty's Sponsored Walk
Betty Barker, one of our volunteers, is often found in the walled garden at Scargill House but soon she will be taking on a different role and walking to raise money for Scargill. Betty is doing the Coast to Coast walk and is looking for sponsorship from generous people - all the proceeds will go to Scargill House. We are so thankful to Betty for her determination and willingness to get stuck into fundraising. If you would like to sponsor Betty or are thinking of running a fundraising event yourself, please get in touch - we would love to hear...

Adrian and Bridget Plass are here - What can they do for You?
Three months ago Bridget and I lived near Eastbourne in Sussex. We don’t any more. We live in North Yorkshire now, near the village of Kettlewell, home of the famous Calendar girls. Walk a mile from Kettlewell in the direction of Conistone, and you will find the entrance to Scargill House. Just inside the big black gates at the bottom of the drive you will discover two semi-detached cottages. We live in the one on the right.
